Skip the healing period

If you are thinking about getting dental implants, one of the things that might be putting you off is the long waiting period between getting the implants fitted into your jawbone and having the crowns put on. At Moor Park Specialist Dental Centre, we are also an immediate dental implant centre in London.

Using an immediate dental implant centre in London means that you can get your implants fitted and new crowns attached to them all in one session. There’s no need to come back for anything more than a check to see if they are working properly.

The plus side of using an immediate dental implant centre in London, such as us at Moor Park Specialist Dental Implant Centre, is that you don’t have to spend a couple of months or more with temporary crowns. You already have your crowns in place and you wear them as you go through the healing process.

This healing process is a very important part of replacing lost teeth with dental implants, and you will still have to go through it. This is when the titanium posts that make upyour dental implants are becoming one with your jawbone. The process is called osseointegration, the implants are integrating with your bone, which is growing new bone tissue and blood vessels all over the surface of the implants. By the end of osseointegration, your dental implants will be held in place as securely as your natural teeth.

When you have immediate dental implants (or same day teeth, as they are also known), we make your permanent crowns for you before the insertion procedure and they are fixed onto your implants straight away. When you opt for the more usual procedure of waiting between the insertion surgery and getting the crowns fixed onto the implants, you continue to wear your old bridge or denture, or have a gap, while the integration process takes place.

Whichever one you choose, it is important to not put too much strain on your implants, which are not yet integrated into the sockets, so you might want to avoid tucking into a really chewy steak or testing your teeth on a toffee apple for a couple of months.
